About the Sport
The youngest figure skating discipline (compared to singles, ice dance, and pairs),synchro is only about 30 years old. It’s an exciting team sport where 8-20 athletes
skate together in complete unison. The combination of creative choreography, appealing music, and attractive dresses makes synchronized skating a great sport for participants and spectators.
What is so wonderful about synchro is the camaraderie and friendships made through participation. Should your daughter choose to participate, she is likely to make lifelong friends and some of her best skating moments will be shared with dear friends.
Synchronized skating is great because there are teams at every age level – it is truly something you can do through adult-hood.
On Saturday November 30th2013, our members participated in this event, and were thrilled to have this day proclaimed Skating Day in the City of Port Coquitlam by
Mayor Greg Moore!
In conjunction with Sports Day In Canada, we celebrate skating for its benefit in promoting fitness, fun and achievement in our community. This national celebration of sport, from grassroots to high-performance, is an opportunity for all Canadians to celebrate the power of sport, build community and national spirit and facilitate healthy, active living!
